VISIBLE FARMER

A unique short series, “that will change perceptions of who our farmers are” is a series that we are so excited and honoured to support!

Rural Room is thrilled to partner with Visible Farmer, a production by Gisela Kaufmann (Director) and Carsten Orlt (Producer) that, “discovers the untold stories of the gutsy women behind our food and fibre, and the vital, innovative role they play. At its heart this project is about education, gender equality and diversity featuring strong, positive stories from Australia's farming communities.”

This series includes 15 x 6 minute documentaries highlighting female farmers and is supported by Screen Australia, Documentary Australia Foundation, CSBP, RRR Network and Dowerin GWN7 Machinery Field Days.

Visible Farmer will launch at GWN7 Dowerin Field Days on the 28th of August. The theme this year is 'Celebrating our Story' and given Visible Farmer's entire first season will proudly feature stories of farming women across WA, it’s the perfect place to premiere!  Register here to attend!

Rural Room is delighted to be streaming an exclusive conversation at Dowerin with Gisela Kaufmann from our Rural Room Pop-Up Porch in the Story Hub, Ag Hall at 4.30pm on Wednesday the 28th of August.

This not-for-profit series is raising funds through Documentary Australia and has created a social change campaign to reach these key impact goals: promoting gender equality and diversity; empowering women; attracting a new rural workforce and supporting advocacy partners with strong, positive stories from Australia's farming communities.

We invite you to visit the Visible Farmer fundraising page at Documentary Australia

The Visible Farmer films will showcase the vital and innovative role women play in agriculture and inspire new generations of women to help shape the future of Australia's food production.

We invite the Rural Room community to share these brilliant stories and get behind this inspirational series of stories that will, “showcase the vital and innovative role women play in agriculture and inspire new generations of women to help shape the future of Australia's food production.”

We look forward to bringing you exclusive updates and news about this series.

600 BOTTLES NOW WITH ABC COMMERCIAL

  • Tuesday, May 28, 2019

Australia’s ABC Commercial has picked up the global distribution rights to shortform comedy series 600 Bottles of Wine.

The 8×9’ or 4×18’ comedy series originally aired on 10 Peach in Australia last year and recently made its UK debut on online-only network BBC3.

Produced by Sydney-based Cockatoo Co Lab, the series is based on writer Grace Rouvray’s blog The Island of the Dead. It follows the romantic misadventures of Claire, an apprehensive 20-something who, after breaking up with her boyfriend of five years, is suddenly flung back into the dating scene.

The series is also set to air on YLE’s SVoD service in Finland later this year, with further details and broadcast announcements to come.
